A Series on Faith: Part 3 Discovery

Have you ever felt truly lost—like you were screaming into the void, and no one could hear you? Like you were drowning in the weight of life and no lifeline was coming? I’ve been there. I’ve lived in that space where everything feels hopeless, where even the thought of reaching out feels pointless. It’s a space I wouldn’t wish on anyone, but looking back, it’s also where I discovered something indescribable: the undeniable presence of “something greater.”

Call it God, the Universe, Source, or simply Love—it’s there. And it shows up, not in ways you might expect, but in ways that are so undeniable they change you forever.

The Darkest Place

There was a time in my life when I had nothing left to give—no strength, no fight, no hope. It felt like I was surrounded by darkness, isolated even when people were around me. I had tried everything to make things better, to fix myself, to solve my problems, but nothing worked. It was in that place, in the quiet desperation of surrender, that something shifted.

It wasn’t a grand moment. No thunderclap or parting of the skies. It was subtle, like a whisper: “You are not alone.” And that whisper came not just as words but as a feeling—peace, assurance, and a sense of being seen for the first time in a long time.

The Experience of Being Rescued

What happened next wasn’t a magical resolution of all my problems, but it was a profound change in how I faced them. It felt as though something—or someone—was walking with me through the mess. When I wanted to give up, I found strength I didn’t know I had. When I felt too broken to move forward, doors opened in ways I couldn’t have planned.

Here’s the thing: I can’t explain it in a way that fully does it justice. This isn’t something you can package neatly with logic or evidence. It’s something you experience. And once you experience it, you don’t need proof because the experience itself is the proof.

An Open Invitation

If you’re reading this and wondering if this “something greater” is real, I’d ask you to consider this: What if it is? What if the whispers you’ve ignored, the moments of peace in chaos, and the unexpected hope in your darkest times weren’t coincidences? What if there is a presence that sees you, hears you, and is willing to fight for you—if you’d only let it?

This isn’t about religion or rules. It’s about relationship and rescue. It’s about acknowledging that you don’t have to carry everything on your own.

Questions for Reflection

Let me ask you a few things to help you dig into this for yourself:

  1. Have you ever felt an unexplainable sense of peace or comfort during a hard time? What do you think that was?

  2. When was the last time you truly felt seen or heard, even in your silence? Could that have been something greater reaching out to you?

  3. If you were to let go of trying to control everything, what would it feel like to surrender? What would you gain, and what would you lose?

  4. Do you believe that your worth is defined by your successes and failures? Or could it be that you are already enough, simply because you exist?

A Journey of Discovery

This isn’t a path anyone can walk for you. But I can tell you that once you take that step—once you stop fighting to do it all on your own and allow yourself to be helped—you’ll wonder why you waited so long. You’ll realize you’ve been carried through moments you thought you couldn’t survive, and you’ll feel a presence that reminds you: You are loved, you are seen, and you are worth rescuing.

I’m not here to convince you of anything, only to share my story and encourage you to seek your own. The beauty of this journey is that it’s deeply personal. No one else’s experience will look exactly like yours. But one thing I do know? If you’re willing to listen, to let go, and to trust, you’ll find what you’ve been looking for—because it’s been looking for you all along.
